A friend of mine gave me one. I was puzzled at first, but it is intuitive...I had some trouble finding it in my area so I bought it here. I have to say I love it! It really is easy and convenient, I keep it in my wallet and use it after I eat. It beats carrying around a box of floss, and I don't like the waste stream involved with those throw away flossers.
Like the previous review, it is very flexible, once you get a hang of sliding it you can do so without it bending so much.
I don't leave home without it! It is addictive!
If you have a need for this type of floss, these work very well. They can be ordered directly from Thornton at a better price, however their customer service has not always been the best.
I'm using it all the time, especially after snacks like popcorn! As a side benefit it has improved my flossing habit, even my hygienist is amazed how good my teeth look, the key is to use it after all meals. If you wear braces of Invisalign you have to try it....it will save you time when you are out and about. Awesome idea!
These "flossing aides" are actually small brush tips that can be inserted between the teeth to clean areas commonly missed by regular brushing and flossing. As a dentist I recommend this type of product to anyone that has existing gum disease where the gums are inflammed and perhaps have receeded and created spaces between the teeth. These brush tips thoroughly cleanse these areas better than brushing or flossing alone. I also recommend these tips to people with bridgework where flossing is at best a difficult task. They also work good for people on the go, as they can be used in a car, at the desk, at home, just about anywhere, and can be used with one hand quite easily. Physically handicapped people find these tiny brushes much easier to use than floss.
I don't recommend that one abandons flossing by using this product, as the bristles do not clean the contact points between the teeth at all. The contact points are areas where cavities can form in-between the teeth. Therefore, continue to brush and floss, and use these tiny bristles for added cleaning between the teeth.
This is a good product, is better than a toothpick, and is recommended for those people who prefer this method. Oral-B can be trusted as it is a very good company in the consumer dental field.
